September 27, 2026 - Pastor James

Jesus Passing Through Jericho: Zacchaeus, Rahab, and a Reversed Curse

Pastor James traces Jesus's journey through Jericho on the way to the cross, drawing out the connections between Rahab the prostitute, Zacchaeus the tax collector, and blind Bartimaeus as three marginalized figures Jesus specifically sought out and saved. He unpacks the symbolism of the sycamore fig tree Zacchaeus climbed, the scarlet cord Rahab hung from her window, and the curse Joshua pronounced over Jericho, showing how Jesus's presence in the city reverses that curse and brings salvation. The sermon weaves in the story of manna ceasing once Israel entered the Promised Land, framing it as a picture of moving from survival provision into the fullness God intends. Pastor James closes by urging the congregation to let go of insecurity and old identities, and to live instead from their identity in Christ. The message ends on a cliffhanger with Joshua's encounter with the commander of the Lord's army, to be picked up the following week.

Christ in You: Rediscovering the Church at Antioch

Pastor Brandi teaches on the church at Antioch from Acts 11, calling the congregation to root their identity in being sons and daughters of God rather than in titles, roles, or busyness. She traces the Point Church's core message — "Christ in you, the hope of glory" — through Colossians 1, and urges believers to test every spirit against Scripture and its fruit rather than chasing signs and wonders. Contrasting the discipleship-driven, multiplying church at Antioch with a modern church culture built around programs and consumption, she calls the congregation back to intimacy with Jesus as the foundation for effective ministry. She closes by challenging the church to walk fully in the identity Christ has given them, then leads communion and a set of declarations.

The Fifth Great Awakening: Discerning True Revival Today

Pastor Brandi explores what she believes is the beginning of a fifth great awakening and challenges the congregation to discern the difference between authentic biblical revival and modern revivalism built on hype and spectacle. Walking through Scripture and church history — from the First Great Awakening through the Jesus Movement, alongside cautionary examples like the Lakeland Revival — she outlines the biblical markers of genuine revival: deep repentance, humility, lasting fruit, and a return to God's Word rather than emotional programming. She calls the church to stay alert and spiritually prepared, to be patient and consistent as Scripture describes, and to actively "occupy" until Christ returns rather than wait passively. The message also includes several ministry updates, including an upcoming ordination service for the pastors, a community winter coat giveaway, and a call to make room for what God wants to do next. Pastor Brandi closes with an exhortation toward genuine intimacy with God and readiness for the harvest she believes is on the horizon.

“Study on Revival Through Micah Chapter 5”

Pastor Brandi shares how the Lord inspired her to begin a study on revival through the lens of Micah chapter 5. Unpacking a prophetic picture of a vulnerable people being fortified and led by a promised king, and connecting it to the church's calling to be unified, victorious, and Spirit-led people rather than distracted or compromised. Pastor Brandi distinguishes true revival — a global, cultural awakening that requires stewardship — from short-lived emotional experiences, and draws on the imagery of the early and latter rain to explain patient, intentional waiting on God. Pastor Brandi closes with practical teaching on prayer, urging the congregation toward intentional, Spirit-led communication with God rather than repetitive religious language. The message sets up a multi-week series that will trace the book of Micah forward into the early church at Antioch.
