June 2025

June 22, 2025 - Pastor James

“The Beauty of Holiness: Speaking Life and Reflecting God’s Nature”
Pastor James Harasimowicz of The Point Church examines the holiness of God as both His divine nature and His transforming work within believers. Pastor James emphasizes that holiness is not achieved through effort but through surrender, intimacy, and obedience to God’s Word. Using scripture and real-life testimonies, he highlights the creative and spiritual power of our words, showing how speech aligned with God’s truth can shape reality, reflect His character, and release life. Worship, he teaches, is both declaration and posture—an expression of holiness that draws believers into God’s presence and displays His glory to the world.

Scripture References from NIV
*Colossians 4:6 – “Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt…” Paul urges believers to speak with grace and wisdom so their words bring life, preserving unity and reflecting Christ’s character.
*Genesis 1:1–26 – “And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.” God’s creative power is revealed through His spoken word, establishing that believers—made in His image—also carry authority in what they speak.
*Psalm 96:9 – “Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness; tremble before him, all the earth.” Worship is portrayed as both reverence and celebration of God’s holiness, calling all creation to acknowledge His glory.
*Psalm 77:12–13 – “I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds.” Reflection on God’s past faithfulness strengthens faith and deepens awareness of His holiness and power.
*Isaiah 6:1–7 – Isaiah’s vision of the Lord on His throne. The prophet’s encounter with God’s holiness leads to repentance, cleansing, and a renewed call to serve—symbolized by the burning coal touching his lips.
*John 1:1 – “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” This passage affirms Jesus as the divine Word, the source of all creation and the ultimate revelation of God’s holiness and truth.

“Practicing Jesus: The Cost and Call of True Discipleship”
Pastor Brandi Harasimowicz of The Point Church explores what it truly means to move from being merely a “Christian” to becoming a committed follower of Jesus. Using Luke 9 as a foundation, she emphasizes counting the cost, abandoning the pull of the past, and embracing a lifestyle of continual obedience, surrender, and transformation. Pastor Brandi teaches that discipleship is not an activity but an identity formed through intimacy with Christ, submission to His Word, and the daily practice of righteousness through the Holy Spirit. She highlights the importance of heart-checks, radical obedience, perseverance, and living as carriers of Christ’s “dust,” allowing His nature to shape every action. The message concludes with a call to abide fully in Jesus, walk as He walked, and practice truth so that our lives reveal God’s glory.

*Luke 9:57–62 — The cost of following Jesus
*Proverbs 3:5–6 — Trusting the Lord and acknowledging Him

“Follow Me: The Cost, Call, and Reward of True Discipleship”
Pastor Brandi Harasimowicz of The Point Church delivers this message which centers on Jesus’ invitation to follow Him—not casually or partially, but with the wholehearted commitment of a true disciple. Pastor Brandi highlights the difference between calling oneself a Christian and actually living as a follower who trusts God fully, lays down personal desires, embraces sacrifice, and refuses to look back. Through scriptural examples, she shows that following Jesus is immediate, intentional, and often uncomfortable, yet it leads to abundant life, deep fellowship with God, and eternal reward. The teaching calls believers to examine their hearts, confront competing priorities, and choose the path where Christ’s presence, purpose, and power define their daily walk.

Scripture references:
*Proverbs 3:5–6 – Trust in the Lord and His leading.
*Matthew 4:18–21 – Jesus calls the first disciples; they follow immediately.
*Mark 2:13–17 – Jesus calls Levi to follow Him.
*Mark 8:34–35 – Deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Jesus.
*John 12:24–26 – Dying to self, serving Christ, and being honored by the Father.
*Luke 9:57–62 – Three would-be disciples and the cost of following Jesus.
*Genesis 1:26 (referenced) – Made in God’s image and likeness.
*1 John 2:15–17 – Do not love the world or its desires.
